This method allows us to spray ink directly onto the fabric, ensuring vibrant colors and intricate designs that truly stand out. What sets our DTG process apart is our use of state-of-the-art Kornit printers. OEKO-TEX® Certified

There are a lot of reasons why a product or material could be considered sustainable. Currently, at Oatmeal Apparel Co. our eco-friendly product collection consists of items made of at least 70% organic or recycled materials, or a mix of these sustainable materials.

Some of our products do carry the OEKO-TEX® certification, one of the world’s leading labels for textile safety. This certification ensures the products are free from harmful substances and safe to use, even for sensitive skin. If a product is OEKO-TEX® certified, you’ll see it mentioned in the product description.

What does OEKO-TEX® certification mean?

OEKO-TEX® certification means?

  • Guarantees that the item has been tested for harmful chemicals.
  • Ensures the product is safe for human use.
  • Meets international safety standards.

Alongside certified products, we also use OEKO-TEX® certified materials in our production process:

  • Inks used in DTG (direct-to-garment) and sublimation printing.
  • Embroidery thread for custom stitching and designs.

The inks we use for printing are OEKO-TEX® certified, vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. Oatmeal Apparel Co. takes sustainability seriously, that’s why we exercise care to properly dispose of any left-over ink according to the ink supplier guidelines.

At Oatmeal Apparel Co. we embroider our products with Oeko-Tex™ certified threads, meaning they’re safe for both adult and children's clothing. Compared to printing, embroidery is generally more durable and produces less environmental waste.

Globally Recognized Certifications

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)

  • The leading certification for organic textiles.
  • Ensure ecological and social responsibility throughout the supply chain.
  • Limits what non-organic fibers can be blended with certified organic fibers.

  • Confirms the presence and amount of organic material in non-food goods.
  • Tracks the material from its source to the final product.

Product Packaging Efforts

At Oatmeal Apparel Co., most of our apparel products are packed in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic mailers. The amount of PCR in the packaging will differ depending on where your order gets printed, but it’s at least 50% for the outside (white or grey) poly mailer bags and at least 30% for the inside (clear) bags used in multi-item shipments.

PCR packaging is made from everyday items, like used plastic bags and bottles. This material protects your order just as well as regular plastic bags, however, choosing PCR over first-use plastics reduces the environmental impact plastic has on our planet.
